Hi all.  Here's my vitals:

Age:  38, female

Present weight: 232

Size: 18/20

Goal:  168 pounds, size 12/13

Also, I'm asthmatic and there's a family history of heart disease and diabetes.  My weight loss is more for health reasons than aesthetics.

I also have a somewhat pie-in-the-sky goal:  To be able to pass the physical fitness test for the police department.  I have a BA in criminal justice and a BA in psychology and would love to be in a position to actually *use* both degrees.  Weight and lack of fitness is my big obstacle.

Hey! :) I'd love to be your friend! I have different stats but I'm also interested in weight loss for health reasons. I've had health problems for some time now and I am hoping exercise and eating right will help solve them.

Great for you!! I really wish I hadn't been so Liassez-faire about my health when I was in my early 20s. Now, with 39 peeking around the corner, I really need to get serious. Thanks for the friending offer. Added you : )

Welcome! Sounds like you have some very valid health reasons on top of your impressive pie-in-the-sky goal! What kind of changes are you making to get there?

Honestly, right now, I'm trying to jump start the motivation. As a veteran member of the "Rubenesque Sisterhood," I'm going to have to change more than just a couple things.

Here's the major stuff:
Quit smoking. (Yes, I'm an asthmatic who smokes.)

Eat healthier, but realistically. (Crash dieting has *always* resulted in gaining back the weight, with interest.)

Adopt a regular exercise plan

Increase excerse regimen (in incriments) to the point where I can pass the physical fitness testing for protective services.

Maintain the goal.
